Factors Causing Changes in Chinese-Thai People’s Way of Life in Tambon Pak Nam Pho, Muang Nakhon Sawan, Nakhon Sawan Province

Abstract

This research aims to study the factors causing changes in way of Chinese-Thai people’s life in Tambon Pak Nam Pho, Muang Nakhon Sawan, Nakhon Sawan Province. This is a qualitative research utilizing documents, and fieldwork study using participatory and non-participatory observation and in-depth interviews with sample of 35 people in Tambon Pak Nam Pho. The research finds that 1) Human intrinsic factors include fear of danger, attitudes, financial position, higher education and social adaptation as the purpose of change in order to make oneself continue to live in Thailand; 2) Environmental factors include contact with the Thai people in all aspects, marrying a Thai Partner, the values of people in Thai society, Thai education system, social media, etc.
