Factors Influencing to Self – Care Behaviors of Patients Diabetes mellitus at Pathumthani Province

Abstract

The purpose of this descriptive study was to examine factors influencing to self - care behavior of the patient’s Diabetes mellitus. The study samples were consisted of 126 patients. (Power .80, Effect size .25). Data were collected using the demographic data record form, the self - care behavior of the patients Diabetes mellitus questionnaire, the social support questionnaire, and the health belief of the patients Diabetes mellitus questionnaire. The reliability test was conducted using Cronbach’s alpha which were at .82, .86, and .78 consecutively. Descriptive statistics and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation were used for data analysis. The results of the study showed that 
              1. Self - care behavior of the patients diabetes mellitus were at moderate level (Mean = .145, SD = .34) 
              2. The social support of the patients diabetes mellitus were at high level ( Mean = .138, SD = .48) 
              3. The health belief of the patients Diabetes mellitus were at high level ( Mean = .139, SD = .38) 
              4. The factors to social support, Health Perceives, were significant predictors with Self - care behavior of the patients diabetes mellitus accounted for 48.35 % (F = 15.230, p < .05)
