ANALYTICAL STUDY OF DEVELOPMENT OF THAI POLITICAL PARTIES ACCORDING TO DEMOCRACY

Abstract

The objectives of this thesis were as follows;1) to study Thai political party development,2) to study democratic government system, and3) to analyze the Thai political party development according to the democracy. The data of this qualitative research were collected from documents, analyzed by content analysis, and presented by by a descriptive method.

The study results found that;1. The Thai political parties were founded after changing the rule from absolute monarchy to democracy in 1932, and they continued gradual development. From past to present, the Thai political parties were groups of people with the same or similar concept and ideology aimed to establish a government.2. The democracy is the government based on majority votes of people through representatives of political parties by election. 3. In the development of Thai political party according to the democracy, Thai political parties are democratic relevant to universal democratic system. The fielding of the party candidates to election in Thailand was similar to that in the United States of America, but different from that in the United Kingdom which had shorter time in canvassing before the election. The tendency of Thai political party could be grouped into two main parties as in the United States of America and in England. In the development of Thai political party in democracy, long time canvassing before the election as in the United States of America and democratic form of government with the King as Head of state may be applied.
