Key Success Factors of Communication for Overweight Children Control: Evaluation of “Do not let Kid be Fat” Project

Abstract

This research is for evaluation of “Campaign Media Development Project on Nutrition in Primary and Secondary Schools: Do not let kid be fat (reduce sweet, salty, add vegetables and fruit).” The objectives were to evaluate Success level and analyze key success factors on the project.  Sample consists of 1,250 students between age range of 8-15, from 22 schools.  Research Instruments were 1) the questionnaires of demographic information, knowledge test, food consumption and physical exercise behavior 2) In-depth interview, and 3) participatory and non-participatory observation. The frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and content analysis were used for data analysis. 

The results of the evaluation are as follows; 1) Reducing the number of overweight students 2) Increasing knowledge, inspiration and behavior level of food consumption and physical exercise, resulting from the media and innovation created by the schools, and 3) networking and expanding results to achieve successful integration. Key success factors consist of internal and external factors. The communication and cooperation skills are needed for school administrators, project managers and student leaders in order to reach their project goals.
