Identity Theft in Cyber Society in case study: Passport Fraud

Nowadays is a world of information technology and borderless communication. Internet is connecting the world together. Information technology therefore plays a very important role in daily life and be a part of life. The internet can be facilitates and responds to human needs for use in exchange of information between them such as personal information, passport, Identity card, Social security numbers, credit cards, and password which make everyone tend to trust and trust in the system for disclosure of personal information to the public. The information which they post on internet can tell the identity of each person as well. Personal Identity usually is in the form of documents, such as Passport, credit card, and in electronic form to identify and associate other information related to that person. Therefore, it was caused of Identity Theft. Passport was also one of factor is easy to do identity theft. There were 3 forms of identity theft through passport: 1) forgery in full, 2) partial forgery, and 3) fake faces. The forging passports as one of 4 identity theft crime, namely informal money transfers Smuggling across countries and procure weapons that transnational crime groups use to support terrorism. It was effected in credibility and national security of Thailand. Therefore, every sector needs to improve within technology and adjust to changes. Including the study, review, and improvement of relevant laws to improve to date with current events and foreseeable future in the prevention and suppression of identity theft.
