A STUDY OF THE USE OF BUDDHISM LEARNING INNOVATION FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN BANGKHUNTHIAN DISTRICT OF BANGKOK

Abstract

Objectives of the study included 1) to study the using state of Buddhism learning innovation for Elementary school students in Bangkhunthian District of Bangkok; 2) to compare students’ opinion on the using state of Buddhism learning innovation for Elementary school students in Bangkhunthian District of Bangkok; and 3) to propose ways of the using state of Buddhism learning innovation for Elementary school students in Bangkhunthian District of Bangkok. The study was a mixed method between a quantitative research and qualitative one in nature. A questionnaire was used for collecting quantitative data from a sample of 357 students, and a Schedule Interview was used to collect qualitative data from 16 key informants. Statistics including Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation was used for analyzing quantitative data and a content analysis for qualitative data.

The results of the study found that:

In respect of the using state of Buddhism learning innovation for Elementary school students in Bangkhunthian District of Bangkok it found that in general all 3 aspects were high- the learning innovation had the content and answers through the said exercises, the learning media innovation assigned students tests by a computer in group, and the integration and application for group learning activities with others.

With regard to the comparison of students’ opinion on the using state of Buddhism learning innovation for Elementary school students in Bangkhunthian District of Bangkok it found that the degree of students’ opinion on the using state of Buddhism learning innovation in general and in each item was not different that was not related to the hypothesis at the statistical significance of 0.05.

Regarding the proposal of ways of the using state of Buddhism learning innovation for Elementary school students in Bangkhunthian District of Bangkok it revealed that teachers had to improve themselves to be active, dedicative and sacrified, allocate sophisticated equipment enough for the teaching process, use a simple innovation for integrating the content covering every subject of learning and knowledge of using innovation for teaching in the future.
