Management style of Bachelor of Arts program in Buddhist Studies of the course administrator in Mahamakut University

Abstract

This research aims (1) to study the problems and factors affecting the administration of the Bachelor of Arts Program in Buddhist Studies by the administrators of the program at Mahamakut Buddhist University (2) to propose a model for the administration of the Bachelor of Arts Program in Buddhist Studies by the administrators of the program at Mahamakut Buddhist University. The sample groups used in this research were students, graduates, lecturers in charge of the program and lecturers of the program, and administrators of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Salaya, Nakhon Pathom Province, totaling 80 persons. The research instruments were interview forms and a 30-item questionnaire with a discrimination power (r) of 0.457-0.840. The reliability using the alpha coefficient was 0.97. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson Product Moment Correlation (r), Multiple Regression Analysis (MR), and Descriptive Analysis.

The research results found that:

1. The problems and factors affecting the administration of the Bachelor of Arts in Buddhist Studies program by the administrators of the program at Mahamakut Buddhist University were at a high level overall and in each aspect. The aspect with the highest opinions was the organization of learning activities, followed by media and learning innovations. The aspects with the lowest opinions were the curriculum and curriculum development.
2. The results of the test of the relationship between the problems and factors affecting the administration of the Bachelor of Arts in Buddhist Studies program by the administrators of the program at Mahamakut Buddhist University, which were related to the curriculum and curriculum development, learning activity organization, media and learning innovations, and measurement and evaluation, found that there was a positive relationship (r = 0.452, 634, 616, 588 sig < 0.01) with statistical significance at the 0.01 level.
3. The results of the study of the problems and factors affecting the administration of the Bachelor of Arts in Buddhist Studies program by the administrators of the program at Mahamakut Buddhist University found that there were variables of the administration of the Bachelor of Arts program Buddhist Studies major of the curriculum administrators of Mahamakut Buddhist University in 4 areas jointly predicted the factors affecting the administration of the Bachelor of Arts Program in Buddhist Studies with statistical significance (P-value = 0.000). The 3 variables can explain the variation of the factors affecting the administration of the Bachelor of Arts Program in Buddhist Studies at Mahamakut Buddhist University by 79.2 percent (R² = 0.792). The prediction equation can be written in the form of raw scores as follows:

                     Y = 0.952 + 0.271X₁ + 0.246X₂ + 0.230X₃

The management model of the Bachelor of Arts Program in Buddhist Studies of the program administrators of Mahamakut Buddhist University consists of (1) Input factors: The management of the Bachelor of Arts program has 6 components: Component 1: Standards supervision Component 2: Graduates Component 3: Students Component 4: Teachers Component 5: Curriculum, teaching and learning, and student assessment Component 6: Learning support (2) Process (Input) includes: 2.1 Curriculum development 2.2 Promotion of learning activities 2.3 Development of learning media and innovations 2.4 Development of measurement and evaluation 2.5 Development of research promotion activities for students (3) Output includes the quality of graduates in terms of educational quality assurance in 5 areas: 1) Morality and ethics 2) Knowledge 3) Intellectual skills 4) Interpersonal skills and responsibility 5) Skills in numerical analysis, communication, and information technology.
