การประเมินคุณค่าทางสุนทรียะแบบบริบทนิยมในงานศิลปะ (Aesthetic Evaluation of Art: A Contextualist Approach)
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article is an attempt to argue for the Contextualist Approach in an understanding and evaluating works of art. While it is crucial that we should pay attention to the perceptual properties of an artwork, namely its line, color and shape (for the visual arts) and sound and rhythm (for the musical arts), it is also necessary to focus on its ‘backstory’, namely its context. The so called ‘non-perceptual properties’ such as its originality, theory and the artist’s intention are relevant and essential in our appreciation and understanding of art.
