Abstract

          The research aimed to study essential competencies required of graduates from The Faculty of Business Administration Department of Finance and Banking. This research was a qualitative research and establishing the grounded theory methodology. This methodology was a part of alternative paradigm. Data were collected by in-depth interviews semi structured questions in interview and non-participant observation. The key informants were 1) entrepreneur 2) company’s administrators, and 3) graduated alumni with totaling 15 informants. The research result was found that performance required for the professional practice of the graduates, Faculty of Business Administration Department of Finance and Banking consists of 1) knowledge of finance and investment 2) systematic problem solving skills 3) skill of Interpersonal and responsibilities 4) Skills in numerical analysis and 5) moral / ethical skills, honesty
