Abstract

This academic article aims to examine the concept and role of knowledge management in enhancing the competitive capability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand, particularly in the context of rapid economic, technological, and competitive changes. Knowledge management is recognized as a crucial tool that enables organizations to systematically create, collect, share, and apply knowledge, leading to improvements in operational efficiency, innovation, and organizational adaptability.

This study employs a literature review approach, drawing upon academic articles, research studies, and relevant reports to analyze key components of knowledge management, including explicit knowledge, tacit knowledge, knowledge management processes, and critical success factors for implementation in Thai SMEs. The findings indicate that SMEs with effective knowledge management systems can improve work efficiency, reduce knowledge loss, enhance employee skills, and achieve sustainable competitive advantages.

Therefore, promoting and developing knowledge management practices in Thai SMEs is an essential strategy for strengthening competitive capability and supporting the long-term economic growth of the country.
