Main Article Content
Abstract
The MICE industry plays an important role in generating income, creating employment, and connecting related businesses. However, technological changes, post-COVID-19 event formats, changing service user behavior, and intensified competition have required entrepreneurs to adapt in terms of identifying business opportunities, understanding the market, and developing innovation. This research aimed to examine the levels of entrepreneurial orientation, market orientation, innovation capability, and business success of MICE businesses in Bangkok and its metropolitan area. This study employed a quantitative survey research design. The sample consisted of 240 entrepreneurs or representatives of MICE business establishments, selected through purposive sampling combined with convenience sampling. The research instrument was a five-point rating scale questionnaire, with content validity values ranging from 0.60 to 1.00 and a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of .974. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The research findings revealed that: 1) entrepreneurial orientation was overall at a high level (X̄ = 3.90, S.D. = 0.73), with autonomy and risk-taking having the highest mean scores; 2) market orientation was overall at a high level (X̄ = 3.84, S.D. = 0.74), with customer orientation having the highest mean score; 3) innovation capability was overall at a high level and had the highest mean score among the variables studied (X̄ = 3.96, S.D. = 0.70), with process innovation having the highest mean score; and 4) MICE business success was overall at a high level (X̄ = 3.90, S.D. = 0.78), with the financial perspective having the highest mean score. The findings indicate that entrepreneurs are well prepared in terms of process improvement, learning, and business decision-making. Nevertheless, proactive actions, competitor monitoring, marketing innovation, and internal management processes should be further developed.
