Abstract

The purpose of this article is to examine the social asset influence on livelihood securities
of the informal garment workers in home-based enterprises. Testing the hypothesis, data were
collected 335 structured interviews of five groups (i.e. kinship workers, self-employ workers,
combines workers, neighbouring workers, and industrial outworks) in Vientiane, Lao PDR between
2017 and 2018. Using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with structural equation modelling (SEM)
approach to analyse using LISREL 11 for Mac. The good fitness indices of model showed that χ
2= 44.310, df = 25, P = 0.0100 < 0.01, RMSEA = 0.0480 < 0.05, NFI = 0.952 > 0.90, CFI = 0.982 >
20.90, and R2= 1.080 < 2. The results indicate that there is positively influenced of social asset on
livelihood securities (λ = 0.16, t-value = 4.43, p < 0.01), which supported all hypotheses.
