Solving Problem of Reading Verse Aloud by Using Verse Reading Activities Package Based on Case-Based Concept

Abstract

This research aims to 1) to explore the issue in a class, 2) to investigate the cause of students’ reading verse, 3) to study the innovative “verse reading activities package” applied to solve the problem of reading verse, and 4) to study the results of using verse reading activities package. The target group of this research was 5 Secondary 4/6 students at Wat Nuannoradit School who do not pass the criterion of 60 in reading verse. Research tools include lesson plans, verse reading activities package, assessment form of verse reading activities package. The data were analyzed by the application of percentages. The results showed that 1) the students had verse reading problems at the percentage of 11.11. 2) The cause of the problem was the students are not unable to read the verse aloud correctly. 3) The consistency of the verse reading activities package has a value of 0.66 - 1.00, interpreting this verse reading activities package can be used to solve the verse reading problem. 4) The results revealed that the students were interested in the verse reading activities package. They followed the steps of the activities with the teacher’s guidelines and explanation. As a result, 5 students' verse reading assessments passed the assessment criteria.
