The Development of English Grammar Proficiency in Present Simple Tense for Matthayom Suksa 1 Students in Watkhemapirataram School by Using Flashcards

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to compare the English grammar ability of Matthayom Suksa 1 students before and after using flashcards, 2) to study the satisfaction of Matthayom Suksa 1 students toward teaching and learning management by using flashcards. The target group was 39 students in Matthayom Suksa 1 of Watkhemaphirataram School which are selected by purposive random sampling method. The research instruments were flashcards, English lesson plans, pre-test and post-test, and satisfaction assessment forms. The statistics used in analyzing the data were Mean (x̄), Standard deviation (S.D.), and t-test. The findings revealed that after using flashcards in learning activities, the scores of the students on the topic of Present Simple Tense were significantly higher than before using flashcards at .01 level. And 2) the students’ satisfaction toward teaching and learning management by using flashcards was at a high level ( = 3.91, S.D. = 0.60).
