The Study of the Promotion Results of Mathematics Learning Activity Skill by Using the 5Es Teaching Model and Cooperative Learning Techinque for Mathematics Major Students, Faculty of Education, Sunan Sunandha Rajabhat University

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the result of the 5Es teaching with cooperative learning techniques on the students’ skills in organizing mathematical learning; 2) to study the result of using the 5Es teaching with cooperative learning techniques on the students’ achievement in organizing mathematics learning activities. The samples obtained by cluster random sampling were the 3rd year student teachers enrolling in the Mathematics Program in the second semester of the 2022 academic year at the Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (N = 36). The research instruments included a seven-lesson plan and 60 multiple-choice learning achievement tests.  The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics including, mean, standard deviation, percentage, and t-test (one-sample-test). The research findings revealed that: 1) the skills in organizing the mathematics learning activities after using the 5Es teaching with cooperative learning were at a ‘good’ level (83.56%). 2) After using the 5Es teaching with cooperative learning, the average score in the academic achievement test of the course entitled Mathematics Learning Activities Management was 14.44 points (72.22%).
