The Development on mathematical ability in measurement of students in kindergarten 2/3 Anubansamsen School (The Government Lottery Office support) by organizing cooking activities

Abstract

This research was a quasi-experimental research which aims to create and find efficiency in cooking activities to develop mathematical ability in measurement of students in Kindergarten 2/3 at Anuban Samsen school (The Government Lottery Office support) has efficiency according to the 80/80 which were followed criteria and to compare the mathematical ability in measurement of students in Kindergarten 2/3 at Anuban Samsen school (The Government Lottery Office support) before and after using cooking activities. The sample group used in this research was 30 students in Kindergarten 2/3 using the purposive sampling method. Because they had problem with mathematical ability in measurement. The tools used in this research were the learning plan for organizing cooking activities which at the highest level ( = 4.99, S.D. = 0.11) and assessment forms of mathematical ability in measurement which had the IOC between 0.67 and 1.00. The cooking activities was organized during the second semester of the academic year 2023. The statistic used to analyze the data included mean, standard deviation, percentage, efficiency of the training set to enhance mathematical ability in measurement and t-test. The research results found that 1) the cooking activities to develop the mathematical ability in measurement of students in kindergarten 2/3 at Anuban Samsen school (The Government Lottery Office support) had an efficiency of 92.22/90.67, which has passed the 80/80 criteria as specified and 2) the students in Kindergarten 2/3 at Anuban Samsen school (The Government Lottery Office support) after receiving a cooking activity had higher mathematical ability in measurement than before receiving the activity with statistical significance at 0.05 level.
