Comparative Studies on the Problems and Needs between Thai Convicted Prisoners and Foreign Convicted Prisoners at Khao Bin Central Prison in Ratchaburi Province

Abstract

The objective was to comparatively studies on the problems and needs between Thai convicted prisoners and Foreign convicted prisoners at Khao Bin Central Prison in Ratchaburi Province in order to find the solutions to develop the status quo and the appropriate treats for the prisoners. According to the research, it was found out that the problems and needs of Thai convicted prisoners and foreign convicted prisoners were generally found at moderate level. Both Thai convicted prisoners and Foreign Convicted Prisoners have problems and needs about fundamental factors the most, but Thai convicted prisoners have lowest problems and needs about the officer’s behaviour in the prison. On the other side, Foreign Convicted Prisoners have lowest problems and needs about vocational training. The results of hypothesis testing’ Thai convicted prisoners were found that religion, native habitat, educational level, level of prisoners and period of prison time, have been related with the different problems and needs, but ages, marital status and period penalty times were found that they were not related with Thai convicted prisoners’ problems and needs at all. On the other side, the results of hypothesis testing Foreign Convicted Prisoners were found that the different levels of prisoners factors have been related with the different problems and needs but ages, religion, level education, marital status, period penalty time and period of prison time were found that they were not related with the Foreign convicted prisoners’ problems and needs at all.
