Application of Ethnomethodology in Clinical Social Work Practice

Ethnomethodology has been categorized as a concept under everyday life sociology, which mainly focuses on human behaviors in daily life. Apart from this, its standpoint is relatively different from structuralism, such as, Talcott Parson and Emile Durkheim. Ethnomethodology concept believes that human is an actor and creates social reality in situations he/she involved. This article thus aims to propose an introduction to ethnomethodology and proposes guidelines for an application of ethnomethodology with clinical social work to have different perspectives on data collection, evaluation, and treatment design of clinical social work.
