Abstract

This article was aimed to review the concept of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) that can be used to assist patients in medical social work. This article was studied in the Thai context and linked to study abroad. The results have been found that MBCT was widely used in many countries and many groups, such as psychiatric disorders, drug addiction and obesity, and so on.  The importance of MBCT could assist the patients from the diseases and those diseases did not happen again especially psychiatric diseases. Therefore, in Thailand, MBCT has never applied to help patients. However, it has already begun to study of MBCT. Hence, it was recommended that MBCT could be applied in medical social work in order to provide effective medical social work which could assist patients without returning to be repeated, as well as improving the quality of life for patients and their families in a sustainable manner.
