Inequality in Health Care Welfare System in Thailand

Abstract

In the last 2-3 decades the public health system in Thailand has developed continuously. Both in terms of receiving health services quality of personnel creating equality and fairness in receiving services from those in the health care welfare system, namely the Civil Servants System (CSS), the Social Security System (SSS) and the National Health Security Program (NHSP). Each of these programs has been developed and implemented for different groups of beneficiaries. The problem of gap injustice, differences in payment methods were all factors that caused problems of inequality of the 3 systems, inequality of people in groups and areas access to quality basic public services. Access rights of the population in society, guidelines for solving problems, policy mechanisms. It is recommended that giving importance to the solution of various inequality issues and system performance quality of care still a challenge ahead equality not discriminating unfairly, providing equal rights to all citizens. Reduce the inequality of access to the health care welfare system "No Thai citizen does not have rights to medical care provided by the government. Each Thai citizen must have a medical welfare privilege."
