Abstract

Poverty is a global crisis of the 21st century that has affected humanity for centuries. This academic paper aims to study the overall picture of the crisis of poverty and inequality in society, roles and working mechanisms of international organizations, international cooperation, covenants on the provision of welfare for people in trouble. The results showed that more than 800 million people worldwide are living on less than $1.25 a day. Poverty by region was found to be concentrated in five countries includes India, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh.

In the last 3 decades,international organizations such as the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Projects under the United Nations include the World Food Program, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development,  United Nations Development Program plays a huge role in solving global poverty.

The United Nations has issued a Universal Declaration, several conventions and international covenants dealing with poverty alleviation. But tackling poverty is still one of many problems, obstacles and difficulties. However, tackling poverty remains an important global strategy in the 21st century, as outlined in the United Development Goals. millennium to eradicate poverty by 2030.
