Chinese Environmental Information Needs of Accommodation Services in Muang District, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract
The aim of this study was to survey Chinese environmental information needs of accommodation services in the Muang District of the Khon Kaen Province. The population of the study consisted of 44 accommodation services in the Muang District of the Khon Kaen Province. Questionnaires, including open-ended and close-ended formats, were also used to collect data. The questionnaires were divided into three parts; 1) information regarding the stay of the tourists, 2) Information on accommodations’ environment and 3) Chinese environmental information needs of accommodation services.
The results revealed that the average number of Chinese tourists who stayed at the accommodations was less than 50 people a year (84.09%). In addition, the accommodation services in Khon Kaen provided environmental measures on personnel, economy, society, environment, law, technology, politics, and organization. Moreover, the Chinese environmental information needs for accommodation services were at a medium level. The results also showed that the environmental information about the accommodation services needed to be included in the need for Chinese information concerning the environment both inside and outside the accommodation. Environmental information was provided with signs, brochures, and stickers.
