Homestay Cultural Tourism at Ban Dong Noi, Phra That Sub-district, Na Dun District, Maha Sarakham Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the opinion level towards cultural tourism in homestays at Ban Dong Noi, Phra That Sub-district, Na Dun District, Maha Sarakham Province; and 2) to conduct a comparative study of opinion levels towards cultural tourism in homestays at Ban Dong Noi, Phra That Sub-district, Na Dun District, Maha Sarakham Province. This research is quantitative. The instruments used to collect data were a survey and a questionnaire. The samples were from 246 tourists traveling to Ban Dong Noi, Phra That Sub-district, Na Dun District, Maha Sarakham Province. The statistics used in the quantitative data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. A one-way ANOVA was used to test the T-test and F-test.


The results of the research revealed that most of the tourists were female, aged 18–30 years. The educational level was a bachelor’s degree or higher. They were mostly single. The majority's monthly income was less than 10,000 baht. The overall opinion level towards homestay tourism in Ban Dong Noi, Phra That Sub-district, Na Dun District, Maha Sarakham Province was at a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the tourists placed the utmost importance on the homeowners’ hospitality, followed by culture, resources, and environment, tour program, food, safety, and public relations, while the aspect with the lowest mean was accommodation. At the .05 level, tourists with different ages, educational levels, and monthly incomes had significantly different opinions on homestay tourism in Ban Dong Noi, Phra That Sub-district, Na Dun District, Maha Sarakham Province.
