Abstract

The research objectives were: 1) to study the arrangement and problem of active learning of social studies teachers, and 2) to study the professional learning community for active learning management of social studies teachers. The samples for research were 225 social studies secondary school teacher and a qualitative data sample of research were 10 teachers. The instruments used in this study were survey questions of the arrangement and problem of active learning of social
studies teachers with checklist and 5 levels of the rating scale and interview question about the applying of professional learning community in the development of active learning management. The data of the research were statistically analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results were as follows: 1) the social studies teachers used the most exchanging learning management model, followed by lecture methods and mind maps by the arrangement of learning management in all models were at a high level, 2) problems in active learning management are: there is a large amount of content in the course and teachers lack experience in active learning management, and 3) problems of applying of the professional learning community, it was foundthat the social studies teachers used the guidelines for setting goals in joint practice, action plan and reflection, but lacked improvement process and exchange of knowledge and performance to lead to expansion.
