Participation of the Community Committee in Formulating Plan of Donmueang District, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

Abstract

                The objectives of this research were to study the level of participation in community committee in the formulation plan and to study the solutions of the community development in Donmueang District. In order to formulating plan, they were classified by gender, age, educational level, periods of living and holding a position in the community. The samples used in this research were 66 members, as specified by using of the Krejcie & Morgan, the data collecting by questionnaire and statistics used in this analysis were frequency, percentage, mean and Standard Deviation.


              The results of this research found that most of the committees were female, between  41- 60 years old, having secondary/upper secondary or equivalent education, having residence period of 14 years or more and having period of holding position less than 3 years. Participation of the formulation plan was overall at high level ( = 3.94, S.D. = 0.649). However, when considering in each aspect, it was found that participation in operations was in high level ( = 3.98, S.D. = 0.676);  participation in decision making was in high level ( = 3.95, S.D. = 0.750); participation in evaluation was in high level ( = 3.93, S.D. = 0.680); and participation in receiving benefits was in the medium level ( = 3.90, S.D. = 0.712) respectively.
