Evaluation of the project to promote the implementation of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, Thetsaban Wat Pho School, Chonburi

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to; 1) Context evaluation about appropriateness, consistency of project objectives and goals. 2) Input evaluation about suitability availability of budgets, materials, personnel, and project implementation methods. 3) Process evaluation on the appropriateness of the implementation of the project in practice 4) Product evaluation about the project performance according to the project objectives and the success of the project in the productivity expansion; by using the CIPPIEST model. The sampling was 2 school administrators,  5 teachers in charge of the project, 15 basic education board, 340 parents and 340 students; a total of 720 people. The instruments used in this research were the 5-level estimation scale questionnaires. For the analysis of the data, percentage, mean and standard deviation. As a result of this research, it was found that:


  1. Context evaluation, according to the opinions of school administrators, teachers in charge of the project, and basic education board, it was found that overall was appropriate, consistent at a high level and overall through the assessment criteria, when considering each item in order from highest to lowest average, the top three are: the project objectives are clear and put into action, the method of operation and the time taken are appropriate and practical, and the goal of the project is to benefit learners.

  2. Input evaluation, according to the opinions of school administrators, teachers in charge of the project, and basic education board, it was found that overall was appropriate, consistent at a high level and overall through the assessment criteria when considering each item in order from highest to lowest average, the top three are: the area and equipment for activities are suitable enough for various activities, the staff in the school cooperated in the implementation of the project very well, and the school has received cooperation from the community in the implementation of the project

  3. Process evaluation, according to the opinions of school administrators, teachers in charge of the project, and basic education board, it was found that overall was appropriate, consistent at a high level and overall through the assessment criteria when considering each item in order from highest to lowest average, the top three are: determining project activities that are appropriate and consistent with the conditions of the educational institution, the school disseminates knowledge from activities and extends the results of activities to the community, and there is supervision, monitoring, evaluation, and the evaluation results are used to continuously improve the project development.

       4. Product evaluation, according to the opinions of school administrators, teachers in charge of the project, basic education board and parents it was found that overall was appropriate, consistent at a high level and overall through the assessment criteria when considering each item in order from highest to lowest average, the top three are: the project implementation achieves the specified objectives, students learn from learning resources in the community, local wisdom and live a life of sufficiency, and educational institutions have good immunity in management and are aware of the changing situation of society. According to the opinions of kindergarten students from the observation of the behavior of the teachers in charge of the project, it was found that overall is appropriate consistent at a high level and overall through the assessment criteria when considering each item in order from highest to lowest average, the top three are: students learn to adjust to more friends and society, learners know how to save money and spend money sparingly, and students are happy to participate in various activities. According to the opinions of elementary school level and at the lower secondary level, it was found that overall is appropriate consistent at a high level and overall through the assessment criteria when considering each item in order from highest to lowest average, the top three are: students can apply the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy in their career choices or continue to study at a higher level, The school organizes activities appropriate for ages and meets the needs of the learners, and students have income during their studies and can lighten the burden on their families.


4.1 Impact evaluation, overall is appropriate consistent at a high level and overall passed the assessment criteria. According to the opinions of the school administrators, teacher in charge of the project, basic education board, and parents found that the school was accepted and had confidence in educational management. Kindergarten students found that the learners had a positive change in behavior. Elementary and lower secondary school learners found that students developed themselves after participating in the activities.


4.2 Effectiveness evaluation, overall is appropriate consistent at a high level and overall passed the assessment criteria. According to the opinions of the school administrators teacher in charge of the project, basic education board, and parents found that learners can apply the knowledge and skills gained from participating in the project and apply them to their daily life. Kindergarten learners found that learners were able to apply their knowledge from participating in activities in daily life. Elementary school students and at the lower secondary level, found that the students were responsible for themselves and their assigned duties. 4.3 Sustainability evaluation, overall is appropriate consistent at a high level and overall passed the assessment criteria. According to the opinions of the school administrators teacher in charge of the project, basic education board, and parents found that learners can apply the experiences gained from participating in the activities to their future careers. Kindergarten learners found that learners were able to adapt and possess the skills necessary to live happily in society. Elementary school students and at the lower secondary school level found that the students had a foundation in their profession that they were interested in to lead to expertise in the future.


4.4 Transportability evaluation, overall is appropriate consistent at a high level and overall passed the assessment criteria. According to the opinions of the school administrators teacher in charge of the project, basic education board, and parents found that the success of the activities in the project can be passed on to serve as a role model for careers. Kindergarten students found that learners were able to pass on their experiences from participating in activities to friends and family. Elementary school students and at the lower secondary level found that the students were able to practice the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy as a role model for their classmates.
