The Development of the Instructional Model to Promote the Capability of Reading Comprehension, Analytical Thinking and Desired Characteristics for Prathomsuksa 1 Students of the School under the Jurisdiction of Suphanburi Municipality

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) study the basic information 2) develop the instructional model 3) try out using the instructional model and 4) evaluate and improve the Instructional Model to Promote the Capability of Reading Comprehension, Analytical Thinking and Desired Characteristics for Prathomsuksa 1 Students of the School under the Jurisdiction of Suphanburi Municipality. The samples of the study were 34 students of Prathomsuksa 1/1 students of the academic year 2021, by sampling selection. The research tool are the instructional model to Promote the Capability of Reading Comprehension, Analytical Thinking and Desired Characteristics, lesson plans, reading comprehension ability test, analytical thinking ability test, Desired Characteristics assessment form, and questionnaire on student satisfaction with learning the Instructional Model, Statistics used in the research are percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test Dependent Samples, and content analysis. The results of the research reveal that (1) the basic information from the interview specialist teachers and the directors found that the students of primary level have the ability of reading comprehension by using funny, and knowledge, analytical thinking, and implement the desired characteristics story together. (2) The developed instructional model consisted of instructional model has the efficiency equals 89.83/84.56 which according to the specified criteria. (3) The result of the ability of reading comprehension Prathomsuksa 1 before and after learning with the instructional model different at .01 level of significance. The ability of analytical thinking of Prathomsuksa 1 Students is at the highest level, and the desired characteristics is at the best level. And (4) The desired characteristics of Prathomsuksa 1 towards learning to Promote the Capability at the highest level.
