Data Model of Cassava Cultivation Issues for Farmers in Watthana Nakhon District, Sa Kaeo Province

Abstract

The study on the data modeling of cassava cultivation issues among farmers in Watthana Nakhon District, Sa Kaeo Province, aims to examine the challenges faced by these farmers. This research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews with key informants, including: 1) cassava farmers, 2) officials from the Provincial Agriculture Office, and 3) representatives from local cassava purchasing facilities in Sa Kaeo Province. The findings reveal four primary areas of concern in cassava cultivation: 1) production, 2) marketing, 3) management, and 4) finance. Among these, production issues are the most critical, primarily due to diseases and pests that significantly reduce the quantity of cassava delivered to factories. The second major issue involves marketing, where low market prices and limited distribution channels in the area pose significant challenges. Additionally, issues related to the management of cultivation areas and financial difficulties are also noted in descending order of impact.
