Abstract

เรื่องสั้น “น้ำตก” ของกนกพงศ์ สงสมพันธุ์ เป็นเรื่องสั้น ที่อยู่ใน รวมเรื่องสั้นแผ่นดินอื่นที่ได้รับรางวัลวรรณกรรมสร้างสรรค์ยอดเยี่ยมแห่ง อาเซียน (ซีไรต์) เมื่อ พ.ศ.2539 เรื่องสั้นเรื่องนี้มีความโดดเด่นที่ความยาว และถูกวิจารณ์ว่ามีโครงเรื่องย่อยมาก บทวิเคราะห์นี้จะชี้ให้เห็นว่า เรื่องสั้น “น้ำตก” มีความดีเด่นที่การสร้างโครงเรื่องอย่างซับซ้อนเพื่อเสนอจิตใจที่ สับสนของตัวละครหลัก อันเป็นการแสดงภาวะการโหยหาอดีตและการ ต่อต้านการเปลี่ยนแปลงแบบสมัยใหม่ที่ส่งผลต่อวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นแบบดั้งเดิม

A Metaphor of Hallucination in Namtok by Kanokpong Songsompan

“Namtok” by Kanokpong Songsompan is a short story in the 1996 S.E.A. Write Award winning Phaendin Uen collection. This story is outstandingly long and thus was criticized beause of its various subplots. This article aims at proving that this story is remarkable in the complexity of its plotting in order to portray the perplexity in the mind of the main character. Plotting together with characterization addresses nostalgia and resistance to the onslaught of modern change which affects traditional local culture.
