Abstract

ในยุคก่อนอาณานิคมมีกระแสความเคลื่อนไหวของกวีนิพนธ์เมียนมาโบราณจานวนหนึ่งที่แหวกออกจากกรอบขนบนิยมเดิม ซึ่งมุ่งนาเสนอเรื่องศาสนาและราชสำนัก แม้ว่าผู้แต่งยังคงเป็นกวีชนชั้นสูง แต่กวีนิพนธ์รูปแบบใหม่นี้มีเนื้อหาที่มุ่งเข้าสู่โลกของสามัญชน โดยเสนอเรื่องราวชีวิตและการทำงานของคนชนบท ในขณะที่รูปแบบและลีลาการประพันธ์คล้ายคลึงกับบทเพลงพื้นบ้านจนอาจกล่าวได้ว่า เป็นการเกิดวรรณกรรมกระแสรองขึ้นในบรรณพิภพเมียนมาและถือเป็นจุดกำเนิดที่เผยให้เห็นโลกของสามัญชนเมียนมา ซึ่งครั้งหนึ่งไม่มีเสียงและตัวตนที่ชัดเจนมากนักก่อนยุคอาณานิคม

Ordinary People in the Myanmar Classical Poetry: The Development of Myanmar Poetry

In the pre-colonial era, there was movement seen in some Myanmar classical poety that diverged from mainstream traditional literary writing, which generally was concerned with religion and royality. Although this new poety still composed by poets of noble rank, its focus was transferred to the world of ordinary people by depicting the life and work or rural folk. Additionally, the forms and styles of the new poety resembled those of folk song. It can thus be said that this new poetry was a substream of Myanmar literature reflecting the world of ordinary people, who had no clear voice or identity in the pre-colonial era.
