คาถาและพิธีกรรมในการรักษาโรคของหมอพื้นบ้าน: บทวิเคราะห์และมุมมองในเชิงคติชนวิทยา

Abstract

บทความนี้มุ่งศึกษาคาถาและพิธีกรรมในการรักษาโรคของหมอพื้นบ้านที่บบ้านหนองขาว จังหวัดกาญจนบุรี โดยใช้มุมมองในการวิเคราะห์คติชนด้านการสื่อสารการแสดง การศึกษาคติชนเชิงบทาท และการศึกษาสัญลักษณ์ในพิธีกรรมผลการศึกษาพบว่า ปัจจุบันบ้านหนองขาวมีหมอพื้นบ้าน 12 ประเภท จำนวน 22 คน พบคาาที่ใช้ในการรักษาโรคแสดงให้เห็นถึงระบบความสัมพันธ์ของคนในชุมชน ความศรัทธาในพระพุทธศาสนาและความเชื่อในอำนาจศักดิ์สิทธิ์ ทั้งยังมีบทบาทในการสร้างความเชื่อมั่นในการรักษา การสร้างปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคนในชุมชน และการสืบทอดความเชื่อเกี่ยวกับการรักษาโรค จึงทำให้การรักษาโรคของหมอพื้นบ้านยังคงมีบทบาทอยู่ในชุมชนแห่งนี้ แม้จะมีการแพทย์สมัยใหม่เข้ามาในชุมชนเป็นเวลานานแล้วก็ตาม

Magic and Ritual of Folk Healers: Analysis and Folkloristic Approaches

This article aims to study magic and healing ritual of folk healers at Ban Nong Khao in Kanchanaburi province, applying three folkloristic approaches: the performance-centered approach, the functionalist approach and the analysis of ritual symbols. The result shows that at Ban Nong Khao, at the period of this study, 12 kinds of folk healers according to the local’s perspective, 22 folk healers and 20 magic texts are found. The ritual components and the magic texts reveals the communal relationship system and beliefs in Buddhism and sacred power. They also have three significant roles: 1) encouraging the mental stability, 2) prompting interaction between community’s members and 3) transmitting local healing beliefs. In conclusion, the healing ritual of folk healers in this community still exists even when the modern medicine flourishes in the community.
