สัจนิยมมหัศจรรย์ในเรื่องสั้น "เงาแห่งฝน": ใต้ "เงา" แห่งลัทธิอาณานิคม

Abstract

บทความนี้มุ่งศึกษาเรื่องสั้นเรื่อง "เงาแห่งฝน" ของอนุสรณ์ ดปยานนท์ในด้านแนวคิดหลัก บทบาทของสัจนิยมมหัศจรรย์ และกลวิธีการประพันธ์แนวสัจนิยมมหัศจรรย์ในการนำเสนอแนวคิดหลัก

การศึกษาพบว่า เรื่องสั้นเรื่อง "เงวแห่งฝน" เสนอแนวคิดหลักว่า การเข้าปกครองกัมพูชาของเจ้าอาณานิคมส่งผลกระทบอบ่างรุนแรงต่อวิถีชีวิตตั้งเดิมของประชาชนและได้ทำลาย "จิตวิญญาญความเป็นเขมร" ลงอย่างไม่อาจหลีกเลี่ยงการสูญเสียจิตวิญญาณความเป็นเขมรส่งผลให้ชาวเขมรไม่สามารถพึ่งพาและปกครองตนเองได้ อันเป็นสาเหตุสำคัญของการฆ่าล้างเผ่าพันธ์พี่น้องร่วมชาติในสมัยรัฐบาลเขมรแดงและความผันผวนต่างๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นในกัมพูชาในเวลาต่อมา แนวคิดหลักในเรื่องสั้น "เงาแห่งผน" ซึ่งนำเสนอผ่านกลวิธีการประพันธ์แนวสัจนิยมมหัศจรรย์มีบทบาทสำคัญในการคัดง้างเรื่องเล่าแม่บทว่าด้วยลัทธิอาณานิคม เรื่องสั้นเรื่องนี้เผยให้เห็นว่า แม้ลัทธิอาณานิคมจะสิ้นสุดลง แต่อิทธิพลในด้านต่างๆ ของเจ้าอาณานิคมยังคงส่งผลกระทบต่อวิถีชีวิตของประชาชนในอดีตประเทศอาณานิคมจวบจนปัจจุบัน ด้วยเหตุนี้ ความชอบธรรมในการเข้าปกครองอาณานิคมของมหาอำนาจของจึงไม่มีอยู่จริง ผู้เขียนเสนอแนวคิดหลักผ่านการสร้างและจัดวางความมหัศจรย์ให้อยู่ในระนาบเดียวกับความจริงบทหลักเหตุผลทั้งในด้านการผูกเรื่อง การสร้างตัวละคร และการสร้างฉาก

Magical Realism in “The Shadow of the Rain”: Under “the Shadow” of Colonialism

This article aims to study "The Shadow of the Rain", a short story written by Anusorn Tipayanon, in terms of the main theme, the role of magical realism and the use of magical realism in the story. It is found that the main theme of "The Shadow of the Rain" deals with the French colonisation over Cambodia which have had
severe impacts on the way of life of the Khmer people. The French control had inevitably destroyed the Khmer spirit which resulted in the inability of the local people to govern and rely on themselves after gaining independence. This is also the main cause of the Cambodian genocide during the Khmer Rouge period as well as several political crises in modern Cambodia. The main theme presented through the use of magical realism plays an important role in revealing the prolonged bad
effect of colonialism on the former colonised country and, therefore, contesting the grand narrative on colonialism given by European colonisers. The author has combined rational logic with illogical magical elements in the creation of the plot, the main character and the setting in order to elaborate the main theme of the story.
