ธรรมยาตรา: ระยะเปลี่ยนผ่าน การพลัดถิ่นฐาน และการเดินทางอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์

Abstract

บทความนี้มุ่งนำเสนอแนวพินิจในการทำความเข้าใจ “ธรรมยาตรา” อันเป็นการเคลื่อนไหว
ทางศาสนาซึ่งเกิดขึ้นในสภาวะวิกฤตของสังคม ผู้ศึกษาอาศัยตัวอย่างในการวิเคราะห์จากธรรมยาตราในประเทศกัมพูชาเป็นหลัก ซึ่งการเคลื่อนไหวดังกล่าวส่งอิทธิพลถึงธรรมยาตราในสังคมไทยซึ่งกำลังเป็นที่นิยมอยู่ในขณะนี้ด้วย การนำเสนอประกอบด้วยการชี้ให้เห็นนิยามความหมาย ข้อเสนอและข้อถกเถียงเชิง แนวคิดทฤษฎีในสายมานุษยวิทยา ทั้งยังแสดงให้เห็นข้อจำกัดของการใช้แนวพินิจต่างๆ ด้วย ทั้งนี้เพื่อให้ เราสามารถทำความเข้าใจนัยแห่งการเคลื่อนไหวซึ่งมีความหมายมากกว่าสองเท้าที่ก้าวเดิน

Dhammayatra: Passages to Pilgrimage and Displacement

This article aims to demonstrate the several approaches in understanding
‘Dhammayatra’ as a religious movement arising from social crisis. In this survey I draw mainly from the case of Dhammayietra in Cambodia which is the forerunner of its popular offsprings in Thailand. The presentation of the text encapsulates the definitions, arguments and debates of Dhammayatra/yietra in the light of Anthropology. Moreover, the article suggests the limitations of using conceptual frameworks to make sense of the footsteps’ subtlety.
