THE POLICY OF PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT TO THE IMPLEMENTATION FOR FOOTBALL CLUBS OF THAILAND

Abstract

This article wanted to study the problem of loss of football clubs. A football club which takes a huge investment, but it turns out that almost all of the clubs are operating at a loss. Therefore, the author would like to study the policy of professional athlete development for football clubs by presenting the policy of professional athlete development abroad and best practice guidelines of the policy of developing professional football players abroad by comparing with the policy of professional athlete development in Thailand, including the policy of developing professional football players of the Sports Authority of Thailand. Moreover, analyze the issue Development of professional football players in Thailand by the Football Association of Thailand. This led to the implementation of the policy to develop professional football clubs by taking examples of professional athlete development abroad as a case study. According to the results of the study, it can be concluded that, the policy of developing professional athletes of the Sports Authority of Thailand is similar to the policy of developing professional football players through football clubs. The administration of the Football Association of Thailand has a 20-year National Football Development Master Plan, 2017 to 2036, to promote and support the development of football clubs in all aspects. By the result, the professional football club can operate and earn profit sustainably.
