Abstract

The objectives of this research article were as follows: 1. To study the conditions of people exercising their voting rights to elect members of the House of Representatives. 2. To study factors affecting their perception of political news from the Office of the Election Commission that affected the exercise of their voting rights to elect members of the House of Representatives and 3. To propose a model for promoting awareness of political news from the Office of the Election Commission that affected the exercise of voting rights in the election of members of the House of Representatives, conducted by mixed research methods. In the quantitative research, data were collected from 400 samples from people in the Bangkok Metropolis. Statistics used in data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. In the qualitative research, data were collected by in-depth interviews with 17 key informants, and the data were analysed using content descriptive interpretation.

The results of the research were found as follows: 1. Conditions of people exercising their voting rights to elect members of the House of Representatives was found that people were aware before deciding to run for election that being a politician must be someone who sacrifices and hold the common interest as the base 2. Factors that affected the perception of political news from the Office of the Election Commission, which affected the exercise of voting rights to elect members of the House of Representatives, were at a moderate level overall. 3. The format for promoting awareness of political news from the Office of the Election Commission that affected the exercise of voting rights in the election of members of the House of Representatives, according to Sappurisadhamma, was to let people's freedom of the media that increased people's awareness of political news in broader sensesม especially receiving news from social media that were modern and prompt that could be applied in daily life
