PROCESS OF PROMOTING PEOPLE'S POLITICAL PARTICIPATION AFFECTING THE CONFIDENCE IN THE DEMOCRACY OF POLITICAL PARTIES IN BANGKOK METROPOLIS

Abstract

Objectives of the research article were: 1. To study the promotion of political participation of citizens affecting the confidence in the democracy of political parties; 2. To study the factors promoting political participation of citizens affecting the confidence in the democracy of political parties, and 3. The application of Buddha-dhamma principles for promoting the political participation of citizens, which affected the confidence in the democracy of political parties, was conducted using mixed methods. In the quantitative research, data were collected using questionnaires from 400 samples. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. And simple linear regression analysis. In the qualitative research, data were collected from 9 key informants using a structured, in-depth interview script. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques.

The results of the research were found to be as follows: 1. Promoting political participation of citizens, overall, was at a high level. 2. Factors in the process of promoting political participation of citizens in all 3 aspects affected confidence in the democratic governance of political parties in Bangkok at the statistically significant level of 0.01 and the principle of Aparihaniya-dhamma 7, which affected the confidence in the democratic governance of political parties. Bangkok was at the statistically significant level of 0.01; the hypothesis was therefore accepted, and 3. Application of Buddha-dhamma principles for confidence in the democratic governance of political parties by applying Aparihaniya-dhamma is an important principle that can be practiced in daily life, from the public to leaders or administrators of the country.
