COMPONENTS IN THE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL POLITICIANS IN SAMUT SONGKHRAM PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to study the elements of leadership development of local politicians in Samut Songkhram Province and conducted qualitative research. Field data were collected from five groups of key informants: local parents, a Group of relevant official community leaders, a group of local wisdom or folk philosophers, and local government organization administrators selecting specifically according to the appropriate group representative characteristics, a total of 25 key informants using a semi-structured interview script with a content validity index (S-CVI) equal to 1.00 as a data collection tool. The data were analyzed using content and context analysis techniques. Data were also collected from 10 participants, who were experts in focus group discussions and analyzed using content and context analysis methods.

The research results found that: 1. Training components included political management, project planning, and management including building cooperation and teamwork, solving problems, and making the right decisions to enhance awareness and understanding of political management. 2. Educational components, including academic education. They developed leadership skills, lifelong learning, social learning, building teams, and promoting collaborative learning. 3. Development components include developing necessary skills, collaborative network development, creativity and innovation, communication, and building an understanding of the development of political stability.
