Abstract

This article aimed to examine the opinions of experts regarding the future image of the Thai state in the next decade using the EDFR (Ethnographic Delphi Futures Research) research method, which consisted of two steps: 1. Qualitative data collection through in-depth interviews with a group of 21 experts to determine the ideal future image of the Thai state in the utopian sense. The content was synthesized from these key informants.
2. Quantitative data collection by surveying the same group of 21 experts in two rounds using the Delphi technique. This aimed to study possible future images, desirable future images, and consensus among experts. A 5-level Likert scale questionnaire calculated the median, mode, and interquartile range values. The data analysis results were used to predict future images.

The research findings identified four dimensions with 20 future images: 1. Future Images of the Thai Population - 5 images. 2. Future Images of Thai Territory - 5 images. 3. Future Images of the Thai Government - 5 images. 4. Future Images of Thailand's Sovereignty Power - 5 images.
