THE FUTURE VISION OF THAILAND IN AN IDEALISTIC PERSPECTIVE ACCORDING TO DHARMA SUPREMACY IN THE NEXT DECADE

Abstract

The objective of this paper was to present the ideal future of the Thai state according to the principles of Dhamma supremacy in the next decade using the EDFR research methodology, divided into 2 steps: 1. Collecting qualitative data from in-depth interviews to determine the future of the ideal Thai state by synthesizing contents from 21 experts by Delphi technique which were key data. 2. Quantitative data were collected by asking opinions from a group of 21 experts using the Delphi technique for 2 rounds to study the future of possible images. There was a desirable picture of the future, and a group of experts had the same opinions; using the five-level rating scale questionnaire, the consensus of the expert group was obtained by calculating the median, base, and interquartile ranges, and using the results of the data analysis to predict the futuristic scenario.

The results showed that: 1. People according to the principle of Dhamma supremacy will be people with high morality and ethics in living, which is in line with the principle in Buddhism, namely Attasammapanidhi, people who have good knowledge and understanding of democratic governance, match the principle of Sappurisupasaya, the people who will be aware and respect the decisions of others. 2. Land in accordance with Dhamma Supremacy will be a territory that will be constantly developing in the area, creative by increasing green spaces and public spaces, maintaining the cleanliness of the city, and being protected by systems and mechanisms to maintain and protect the area without disturbing others and protecting plentiful resources.  3. A government in accordance with Dhamma Supremacy will be a government that respects the laws and constitutions of the country. The country's executives will be highly moral and ethical. It will not violate the rights and freedoms of citizens. 4. Sovereignty along the lines of Dhamma Supremacy will emphasize participation with all sectors in exercising sovereignty in all three branches: the executive branch exercises administrative power that will be correct and appropriate to the national context. The judiciary branch will decide and judge cases honestly and fairly with people.
