Abstract

Objectives of this study were 1. To study the level of community participation, housing satisfaction, and quality of life of the head of family, 2. To compare the quality of life of the head of the family classified by different personal factors, 3. To study the relationship between community participation and the quality of life of the Head of the family, and 4. To examine the relationship between housing satisfaction and the quality of life of the head of the family. The samples were 177 Heads of the family at the Ladprao Canal community development project in the same district in Bangkok Metropolis. The data were collected using questionnaires divided into four parts: Part one, personal factors information; Part two, community participation; Part three, housing satisfaction; and Part four, quality of life. Analyzed the data by using a statistical package program. Statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, and Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient.

The results showed that 1. The head of the family had a high level of community participation ( $\bar{x}$ = 3.99), and a moderate level of housing satisfaction ( $\bar{x}$ = 3.54) and high-level quality of life ( $\bar{x}$ = 4.22), 2. The head of the family with different personal factors, age, education level, occupation, sufficient income, family members, and mortgage had no differences in quality of life. 3. Community Participation was positively correlated with quality of life with a statistical significance at the .01 level, and 4. Housing satisfaction was positively correlated with quality of life with a statistically significant level at 0.01
