Results and Expectations Arising from the Social Network of the Current Monastic Community

Abstract

             This research aims to study the outcomes and expectations arising from the social network of the current monastic community. It employs a mixed-method research approach, combining Documentary Research and Qualitative Research. Qualitative data is collected from three key informant groups: policy-makers, provincial-level operators, and network groups, totaling 28 individuals. The research tools include interviews and specific group discussion assessment forms. Content analysis reveals that the existing social network of the monastic community includes interactions with various entities such as monastic communities, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and intra-monastic network groups. Essential social network components should involve households, temples, schools, government entities, and communities near the temples, contributing support through activities like religious ceremonies. Online communication platforms like Facebook aid in promoting and publicizing the temples, while mass media assists in disseminating information. Some success is noted where government agencies provide support in various aspects, including financial assistance. However, not all temples have achieved the desired level of success in utilizing social networks. Some temples benefit from social networks, while others do not. Expectations from the social network include improved consultation and collaboration, emphasizing teamwork among the network participants.
