Abstract

Objectives of this research article were: 1. To studying people's political participation. 2. To study the relationship between the principles of Aparihaniyadhamma and political participation. and 3. To study guidelines for applying the principles of Aparihaniyadhamma to promote political participation of citizens in Noen Phra Sub-District Municipality, Mueang District, Rayong Province. The research method was quantitative research. Data were collected using questionnaires with a reliability value for the entire version equal to 0.979. A sample group of 392 people was obtained from Taro Yamane's formula. Data were analyzed using a ready-made program. Moreover, qualitative research Data were collected from 9 key informants or people, including Buddhist scholars. Political science academicians and local politicians used structured in-depth-interview script. Data were analyzed using content descriptive v analysis techniques.

The research results were found that 1. The people's political participation in the Noen Phra Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang District, and Rayong Province, by overall, was at a moderate level. 2. Principles of Aparihaniyadhamma was significantly related to promoting political participation of people in Noen Phra Subdistrict, Mueang District, Rayong Province at the 0.01 level, with a positive relationship. at a moderate level (r=.365**) 3. The application of the Aparihaniyadhamma7 principles to promote political participation of the people was as follows: 1) Elections encouraging people to exercise their rights. Moreover, they did not break the rules. 2) Participation in local administration; It allowed citizens to examine politicians by regularly meet together to participate in solving problems. 3. Public hearings: People could explain the facts and have the right and freedom to receive political news and equal protection according to the principles of the law.
