PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN CRIME PREVENTION PHRA NAKHON SI AYUTTHAYA MUNICIPALITY AREA, PHRA NAKHON SI AYUTTHAYA PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article aims 1. To study the problems of public participation in crime prevention in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province and 2. To study the pattern of people's participation in crime prevention around Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. This is qualitative research by collecting data using in-depth interviews with 35 key informants. The data were analyzed in terms of content and description.

The research results found that 1. Problems in public participation in crime prevention around Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province consisted of 5 problem areas: 1. Problems in the latent population, 2. Problems in the family, 3. Problems in the officials in terms of the law. 4. Problems with conflicts in the community lack unity and 5. Problems with budgets lacking budget support for spending on setting up checkpoints to prevent crime. 2. The form of public participation in crime prevention around Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province consists of 4 areas: 1. Participation in decision-making 2. Participation in implementation 3. Participation in receiving benefits 4. Participation in evaluation 3. Guidelines for promoting and supporting public participation in crime prevention around Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. It consists of public relations, field visits to reach the public, organizing campaigns to raise awareness of participation from community leaders, safety from informants, and budget and equipment support related to crime prevention and suppression.
