MANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE OF SANGHA ADMINISTRATION IN CHANTHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research article were: 1. To study the general state of public welfare management by the Sangha in Chanthaburi Province, 2. To examine factors affecting the public welfare management by the Sangha in Chanthaburi Province, and 3. To propose guidelines for public welfare management by the Sangha in Chanthaburi Province, conducted by the qualitative research. Data was collected by   in-depth interviewing 25 key informants and 12 participants in focus group discussion Data were analyzed by content descriptive interpretation.

The research findings revealed that: 1. The general management conditions had both strengths and weaknesses. Strength such as a systematic management structure, leaders with clear vision, and strong collaborative networks. Weaknesses, such as unsystematic budget allocation, lack of personnel with specific expertise, insufficient public relations, and lack of clear operational plans. 2. Factors that influenced management included sufficient resources, building collaborative networks, developing knowledge and skills of monks, creating transparency and credibility, applying IT, promoting community participation, and developing a monitoring and evaluation system. 3. The proposed guidelines emphasized strengthening Buddhism, improving internal management, developing into a Buddhist learning organization, and managing resources sufficiently. Key strategies included establishing a training center for missionary monks, promoting Pali studies, setting up a fund for education and propagation of religion, developing a digital database system, building collaborative networks, developing personnel potential, and applying IT in management.
