ANALYZE SOCRATES POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY IDEAS

Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the political philosophy of Socrates, the Greek philosopher. Socrates' concern with death prompted significant changes and gave rise to a new paradigm within ancient Greek political philosophy. This encompasses Plato's political teachings, which focus on proven knowledge, the distinct essence of the psychological realm, and the interaction between rational thought and the scope of emotions, desires, and feelings that play a role in determining behavior in distinguishing between power and the people, as well as their impact. In the medieval Christian era, there was a theological analysis of martyrdom and the division between the secular and sacred realms. Exploring these concepts helps us understand the development of political philosophy in later periods and how religious beliefs influenced the creation of governance systems and administration within society. This analysis also highlights the connections between Socratic political philosophy and later political concepts, such as democracy and authoritarianism, which affected different governance methods in each period, among others.
