SOCIAL EQUALITY ACCORDING TO DEMOCRACY: ZEN PHILOSOPHICAL ANALYSIS

Abstract

This article analyzes the concept of social equality under the framework of democracy by using the concept of Zen philosophy as a tool to interpret and expand the understanding of coexistence in a society with social, economic and cultural diversity. Zen philosophy emphasizes a straightforward view of the world, the use of feelings and letting go of judgments in the form of abstract thoughts. The study of Zen concepts focuses on awareness and release from limitations of thought to encourage people to see equal human beings without discrimination in terms of social status. A comparative study of Zen philosophy and the concept of democratic equality points out the important relationship between achieving “oneness” and creating a society with social justice and equality. Zen concepts can therefore be applied to foster new perspectives in understanding and implementing equality in a democratic society in a profound and balanced way, fostering a deeper understanding and connecting people so that they can live together equally in a happy society.
