Abstract

This article analyzes Nelson Mandela’s “world-changing weapon” concept, which views education as the most powerful tool for creating social and political change. This philosophy represents the struggle for equality and justice through the learning process of the people. In the era of globalization, education is not limited to the classroom but can be expanded through online media, which plays both a constructive and a detrimental role at the same time, promoting the liberalization of ideas and knowledge for the people in Thai politics. Studying Mandela philosophy in developing and enhancing access to information can help promote greater understanding and public participation in the political process. Online media in Thailand can also be used by those in power to control and disseminate information that is in line with their own interests. The result is social division and the closure of opportunities for dissent, which is an obstacle to democracy and freedom of expression. This analysis focuses on integrating Mandela’s ideas into the context of Thai politics in the era of globalization, emphasizing the promotion of understanding in using online media mindfully and responsibly to prevent information distortion and excessive control in creating sustainable changes in society.
