REDUCING EDUCATIONAL INEQUALITY AMONG POOR THAI CHILDREN THROUGH EDUCATION LAWS

Abstract

This academic article aims to study poverty reduction and educational inequality among Thai children, linking it to education laws in Thailand. Using the method of document study and analysis, it was found that 1. Poverty and inequality exist all over the world and are among the world’s biggest problems, as the UN has announced several Sustainable Development Goals, but the most important and first issue is solving poverty problems. Thailand is also facing this problem as a top priority. It is also a problem that accumulates poverty and inequality, as the saying goes, “rich people are concentrated, poor people are scattered.” Even though Thailand has invested a high budget in education, UNESCO has given great importance to this issue and believes that eliminating poverty or reducing poverty is the first goal of education. Only quality education can help eliminate poverty, lead to good health, support democracy and good governance, and preserve the natural environment. 2.
