BUDDHADHAMMA APPLICATION FOR PROMOTING THE ADMINISTRATION ACCORDING TO THE MISSION OF BANG TOEI MUNICIPALITY AT SAM KHOK DISTRICT IN PATHUMTHANI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article aimed: 1. To study the level of management performance according to the missions of Bang Toei Subdistrict Municipality;  2. To examine the relationship between the Four Iddhipada principles (Chanda, Viriya, Citta, Vimamsa) and the management performance of Bang Toei Subdistrict Municipality; and 3. To explore the application of Buddhist principles to promote management in accordance with the missions of Bang Toei Subdistrict Municipality, Sam Khok District, Pathum Thani Province, conducted by the mixed-methods consisting of quantitative research using questionnaires and qualitative research through in-depth interviews with nine key informants to support the quantitative data. The sample group consisted of 400 residents aged 18 years and over, eligible to vote in Bang Toei Subdistrict Municipality, selected by simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient.

The research findings revealed that: 1. the overall level of management performance was at a high level, and the overall level of adherence to the Four Iddhipada principles was also high; 2. there was a moderate positive correlation between the Four Iddhipada principles and management performance (R=.741**); and 3. the application of Buddhist principles in the management of Bang Toei Subdistrict Municipality covered strategic infrastructure development, enhancement of citizens’ quality of life across all age groups, systematic and sustainable waste and environmental management, promotion of local wisdom and eco-tourism, community economic development through digital skills and online marketing training, administration based on good governance principles, and the promotion of identity-based tourism to strengthen community resilience.
