THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING MANAGEMENT MODEL USING DESIGN THINKING TO ENHANCE CREATIVE INNOVATE ABILITY AND INNOVATORS STRATEGIES FOR GRADE 7 STUDENTS

Abstract

This research article aims to 1. develop a learning management model based on the concept of design thinking to enhance innovation creation ability and innovator traits among Grade 7 students, and 2. examine the effectiveness of the model, which includes: 2.1 studying the development of students' innovation creation ability, 2.2 assessing their innovator traits after using the model, and 2.3 exploring students' opinions toward learning with the model. The target group consisted of 40 Grade 7 students from the second semester of the 2023 academic year at Phra Pathom Wittayalai School, selected through cluster sampling. Research instruments included 1. the learning management model, 2. a user manual for the model, 3. lesson plans, 4. an innovation creation ability assessment, 5. an innovator traits assessment, and 6. a student opinion questionnaire. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, paired-sample mean comparison, and one-way repeated measures ANOVA.

The research findings revealed that 1. The learning management model consisted of 5 key components: 1. Principles, 2. Objectives, 3. Learning management processes with 5 steps: Step 1: Comprehension, Step 2: Identify, Step 3: Ideation, Step 4: Modeling, Step 5: Experiment, 4. Assessment and evaluation, 5. Implementation conditions.The quality assessment by experts showed the highest level of consistency (M=4.82, S.D.=0.38), 2. The effectiveness of the design thinking-based learning management model 2.1 Students' innovation capability development increased significantly at the 0.05 level, 2.2 Students' innovativeness after using the model was at an excellent level (M=2.91, S.D.=0.09), 2.3 Students' overall opinions toward the learning model were at the highest level (M=4.83, S.D.=0.35).
